World of Maths

Yesterday, we went to the World of Maths.  We had lots of fun on the activities.  KL's favourite activity was the people stuck on the islands.  The maths was counting the people.

OY liked the puzzle to make a rocket.

TC liked driving home with her fingers activity.  This was counting the kilometres.

LR like the puzzle of making the knot become untangled with the handcuffs.

GS enjoyed the stone activity.

CF's favourite activity was the seesaw and seeing how heavy things needed to be to make it balance.

This is getting the ball in hole using the string.

Most of the activities were about problem solving.  We were having so much fun we didn't realise we were doing maths.

Our Science Experiment with Water and Carnations.

We are learning what happens when a plant drinks water.

First, we cut the stems of the flowers and placed them in coloured water.  We have 3 colours: red, blue and green.

We noticed that after lunch, blue was appearing in spots.

Now after 3 days, the blue has travelled the most.  Red has travelled the least.
We will have to check on Tuesday,

Junior Cross Country

On Friday we had the Junior Cross Country.  We are proud of CJ as he won the Year One boys.  Well done CJ.  Here he is coming up to the finish line.

Everyone at the Junior Cross Country tried their BEST ALWAYS. We know this because everyone finished.

Welcome Back

We are at the end of our first week back from the school holidays.  People in Room 2 are nearly all 6 years old.  This means we are nearly ready to go into Year 2.  Miss Lowans has taught us to work hard and we think we are AWESOME.

We like our new coloured walls of orange and blue and the white paint work on the beams. Room 2 feels really different.  We are looking forward to the new door coming soon.

Welcome back to Term 4.
