Learning about Road Safety when Crossing the Road

This morning in assembly, we had Wanda the Walking School Bus come with Liz and talk to the school about our Walking School Buses and using them.  The people in Room 2 that use the Walking School bus to help reduce the number of cars at the school gate, and gives us excercise really like the walking bus.

Then we got to play a game about walking safely.  It worked a bit like Snakes and Ladders.

WALT Compare and Contrast Traditional Chinese and Maori Clothing

We decided that the clothes were so different because the weather is colder in China than NZ.

MY and KL brought in their Chinese clothes to show us.

Eva is Italian and she is wearing her Italy teeshirt.  We are proud of our cultures.

Building Bridges for the Gingerbread Man: WAL about Measurement

Our problem was to help the Gingerbread Man get away from the fox.  The bridges were different sizes because the rivers were different sizes.

Book Week: Our Plays

Room 2 has been practising plays this week.  We performed them today to an audience.  Our audience was Room 1.  The plays were: Home Comes the Hunter, Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.  We all had parts in the plays.  We liked the stories for the plays.  We liked it when the characters spoke clearly, and we liked doing the play acting.  RS was a very good troll.  We would like to do plays again another time.

Miss Lowans thinks Room 2 were fabulous with their speaking, and acting for their very first time.

Book Week Assembly

We had book week assembly. We got to dress up as a character from a book.  We had Legoman, Rapanzel, Spiderman, a pirate, The Hulk, TinkerBell, Sleeping Beauty, Princess Yasmine, Snow White, a gymnast, a queen, Cinderella, a fairy, Ironman, Strawberry Shortcake and  Princess Anna.  Spiderman won a prize and so did Legoman,  

There were many wonderful costumes across the school.  Mary Poppins (Mrs Pearce) and Cruella Da Ville (Mrs Beach) were fabulous.  Room 2 liked Miss Lowans as Jess the Cowgirl.
